Hid Light Bulbs

Hid light bulbs are basically thinner and slightly longer than the normal incandescent bulbs and are brighter and powerful and stronger than the ordinary bulbs. The following are some of the key facts relating to hid light bulbs.

1. These bulbs are very high in intensity and emit more light than possibly any of its counterpart.

2. It is called hid because of the electric arc which is present in the bulb and hid refers to that arc.

3. The lights produced by HID lights are more similar to the light produced by the sun light and it is very unlike halogen lights.

4. These HID lights are basically used for security purposes and landscaping because of its powerful and wider reach.

5. You would also come across HID lights on the side of the roads, streets, highways, staircases, etc.

6. As the impact of this light is much farther and better, many government officials in foggy places use these lights as it is able to break through the fog and give clearer vision.

7. Even though the light produced by HID lights is more when compared to the other lights, the amount of energy consumed by HID lights to give the light is pretty much same to what other bulbs like halogen bulbs use. So this HID light not only gives brighter light but it is also energy saving.

8. These lights are not whitish in colour like halogen lights. In fact they are slightly bluish in their light and give three hundred percent more light than what these halogen lights give.

9. The biggest plus point of HID lights is that it is long lasting and can work for thousand hours more than the halogen club. This is really astounding because the halogen light itself is known for its longevity and if there is any other bulb which can actually beat the halogen bulb for its life, then it is really superb.

10. These HID bulbs are also recyclable. Hence it is important whenever we dispose off these HID lights, we must do it with care as it could be useful in the future too.

11. But there is one problem with these HID lights which is that even though they are recyclable, they are very difficult to be disposed off because of the mercury content in the HID bulbs. The mercury is such a big problem because if it spills, it is very difficult to clean it off.
